Grad VIP sessions were created to equip YOU as a new graduate with a wide variety of images for whatever path you have chosen in your life. This session goes far beyond a basic portrait session and includes many types of images. We will start outdoors in the locations we have discussed, and photograph you in your cap and gown as well as your formal attire. We will take some photos of you with props and poses to show off your hobbies and interests. Your family is welcome to pop by for a few family photos as well. We will take a variety of branding images that can be used on your social media if you are planning to start your own business or blog. Grad VIP sessions also include a bonus studio headshot session to equip you with the formal headshot you may need whether you are entering the corporate world, encountering situations such as speaking engagements in which you may be asked to provide one, or just need a good headshot for your LinkedIn profile. My goal for the Grad VIP sessions is to not only preserve memories of this time between your school years and adulthood, but to offer you a wide variety of photos that will prove useful to you in the near future.

We will have a pre-session consultation where we will discuss details like locations, outfits, hobbies, props, etc. You’ll receive information before your session to help you know how to prepare for your session day!

Grad VIP sessions are ALL about having a great time, and you are encouraged to bring your parent and/or a good friend who can act as your assistant, help you carry your many outfit changes and add to the fun! During your photo session, I will take some casual iPhone video footage in order to create Reels, stories, Boomerangs and GIFs, which I will share with you so that both you and I can use them on our social media.

You’re going to have plenty of time at this session, so be sure to bring a variety of outfit changes! We will have a location plan that we’ve discussed in the consultation that may include driving to completely separate locations, or you may wish to choose a neighbourhood in Calgary where we will wander around looking for various photo locations within a walkable distance. Your session involves me doing some location scouting before your session so that I have an idea of some of the specific spots we may want to use. If you’d like, we can plan the timing of your session to include a mixture of daylight, sunset and nighttime images.

Your headshot session will take place at my home studio. You are welcome to bring a few extra outfits there as well for some more variety.
